Send WhatsApp Messages to Candidates
WhatsApp is now available as a contact channel in your campaigns. Candidates receive messages directly in WhatsApp, just like a regular message.
When to Use WhatsApp?
WhatsApp is particularly effective for candidates who rarely respond to SMS or emails. It is a complementary channel — you can use it instead of SMS, or combine it with other channels in a custom sequence.
Enable WhatsApp on a Campaign
WhatsApp must be enabled campaign by campaign:
- Open your job posting
- Go to the Campaign tab
- In the Preferences section, enable the WhatsApp toggle
Once enabled, WhatsApp appears as an option in the deployment sequence editor.
Add a WhatsApp Step to Your Sequence
In a campaign with custom deployment:
- Click Add a step
- Select WhatsApp (the green icon appears)
- Choose the message template or write your content
- Set the sending delay
What the Candidate Receives
The candidate receives a WhatsApp message on the number associated with their profile. The message appears as a standard message in their WhatsApp application.
⚠️ The candidate must have WhatsApp installed and a compatible number to receive the message. If not, the message will not be delivered — plan a fallback channel (SMS or email) in your sequence.
Finding WhatsApp Exchanges
WhatsApp messages sent to a candidate appear in their communication history, with the WhatsApp icon to identify them.
